Introduction: 
   

It is one of the 51 important Shakti-Peeths described in the Tantra-Churamani. This is situated at Labpur Village 93 Km away from Bardhman in the State of West Bengal.

   

The Devi of this place is called Fullara. According to the Tantra Churamani it was the lower lip of Bhagwati Sati that had fallen herd after getting cut.

   

The famous Bangla writer Tara Shankar Bandhopadhyay belonged to this very village. He write many novels like 'Gandevta'.

   

The temple of this place got a new look during the period of Nawab Ali Bardi Khan (1740-56). He appointed the brahmins of Mithila traditional priests by bestowing the title of 'Vakeel' on them.

   

Annual Celebration is held here on Magh Purnima every year. This is the biggest festival of this place.

   

Even to day 'balipratha' (sacrificing living animals) is operative here. This starts at other places after the sacrifice is made here.

   

This temple has no statue of Devi. In stead there is shila-khand (a part of a big stone) that is worshipped by pasting sindur (vermilions) on it.

According to the Devi Puran and Tantra Churamani, the upper lip of Devi's body fell here. Fullara is the Shakti and Vishwavesh is the Bhairav.

    

According to the priest of the temple, Devi Pratik first appeared to a sanyasi named Krishna Dayal Giri in his dream and it was he who first of all got Shakti Pratik out of the pond and established there.

    

It is believed about Devidah pond that is very close to it that Hanuman jee himself on a boat made of gold came here to collect neelkamal in order to worship Devi but his boat sank.

   

According to local beliefs it was Krishna Dayal Giri whom Devi directed that this place should be known by the name of Fullara.

    

Local hear say states that Devi of here is the giver of all physical pleasures and the Bhairav is the master of the whole universe.
